Hi, I’m DR. Michael j harris

I come from a line of helpers. My grandmother cared for her extended family, and even took people in off the streets, nourishing both their bodies and spirits. She became my dad’s major influence. He became a psychotherapist and practiced until the age of 90.
As a child I listened at the door, as my father counseled others in their relationships, and with important life decisions. This had an impact. After some meaningful volunteer work in my twenties, I followed this same path and practiced as a therapist for about 35 years.
I learned some things as a counselor. Until someone has a deep corrective emotional experience (which is generally quite spiritual), they do not change. Psychological principles and processes are helpful, but the awakening of the spirit within a person is vital, it leads to a change of attitudes, feelings, and beliefs. The therapist is only a facilitator to the one (the client) who discovers the universal truths of their purpose, life’s meaning and how to love and be loved.
My work today focuses on these most important truths!
